Behind every brushstroke, poem, or sculpture is a journey — a veteran's silent story, a paramedic’s burden, a firefighter’s flashback. At Veterans’ Art Gallery Inc., we provide a trauma-informed creative space where military personnel and emergency responders can begin healing, reconnecting with themselves and others through artistic expression.
What you can expect:
PTSD-focused art programs
Peer-led group sessions
Trauma-informed teaching techniques
Intro kits with materials and video access
Reduce symptoms of PTSD and anxiety
Improve memory, focus, and cognitive flexibility

PROGRAMS
Step into a safe, creative space where expression replaces pressure, and healing begins with your own hands. In this 2–3 session trauma-informed workshop, participants will design, sculpt, and paint symbolic masks using papier-mâché — a powerful process that gently reveals the layers of identity shaped by service, trauma, and recovery.
Hands-on guidance in sculpting and painting your own mask
Meaningful discussions on identity, dual roles, and the “masks we wear”
Optional journaling or naming your piece to deepen personal reflection
A final group circle or quiet unveiling (participation is always optional)
This program is not about creating a perfect object — it's about reclaiming your story and reconnecting with your inner world. You choose whether to keep, destroy, or anonymously display your mask as part of our optional Wall of Healing.
No art experience is needed. Just bring yourself — as you are.
This powerful program invites veterans and first responders to come together to create a large-scale collaborative mural that reflects shared experiences, personal journeys, and the resilience of service.
Participants will co-design and paint a mural over the course of 2 sessions, each adding their own visual voice to a collective work of art. Through imagery, symbolism, and shared creative space, this experience fosters healing, community, and visibility — without requiring anyone to speak more than they’re comfortable with.
Group-led planning and design sessions guided by an art facilitator
Collaborative painting on canvas, wood panels, or wall space
Optional symbolic themes such as “Strength Through Struggle”, “The Journey Home”, or “Unseen Scars, Shared Strength”
Final unveiling or gallery display to celebrate the collective work
Led by Those Who’ve Been There
You don’t have to carry it all alone.

Weekly in-person gatherings in a private, comfortable setting
Group-led conversation guided by a veteran/first responder peer
Check-ins, shared experiences, and practical coping tools
Optional creative or reflective activities like writing, sketching, or music
Respect for silence, boundaries, and everyone’s pace
This isn’t about fixing anyone. It’s about showing up for each other, speaking when you're ready, and finding strength in shared understanding. You won't be asked to relive your trauma. You’ll be encouraged to connect, listen, and find support in others who get it — without having to explain.
