In partnership with Port Stanley businesses and organizations, Veterans’ Art Gallery Inc. hosts seasonal celebrations, waterfront gatherings, and creative pop-ups designed to inspire, unite, and honour those who serve. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush, enjoying live music, or simply spending time with neighbours — there's a place for you here.

Step Into the Stories of Canada's Longest War — Through the Voices of Those Who Lived It.
Mission: Afghanistan – Stories from the Frontlines
Mission: Afghanistan - Event Overview
a powerful, immersive exhibit that chronicles Canada’s military involvement in Afghanistan from 2001–2014. More than 40,000 members of the Canadian Armed Forces served during this period — with 163 losing their lives and many others returning home with visible and invisible wounds.
This interactive and deeply moving mobile exhibit features:
Five multimedia touchscreen stations
450+ vivid bilingual stories told by the men and women who were there
Modular layout adapted to our gallery space for accessibility and impact
On-site reflection wall and guestbook to honour those who served

Grant-Funded and Community-Supported
Thanks to grant support from Veterans Affairs Canada and in partnership with local businesses, this event is accessible to all, with admission by donation to support gallery programs for veterans and first responders.

JUne 2025 event - BRUSHES BY THE BAY
Live Art on the Waterfront Port Stanley Boardwalk Celebrate the kickoff to summer as local veterans and first responders create live paintings inspired by the lakefront. Stroll along the boardwalk and watch creativity come alive in real time. Visitors can join in with pop-up easels for kids and an all-ages community canvas.

Ice cream + art bundle (available through local vendors)
Live auction for charity at the end of the day
JULY 2025 - heros & horizons
"Heroes & Horizons” – Sunset Art Show + Lantern Tribute
A soulful evening celebrating resilience through art. View veteran- and first responder-created works in a twilight gallery open house, followed by a sunset lantern launch on the beach in honour of those who serve.

august 2025 - art in the sand family day
Family Beach Day & Pop-Up Art Fair Main Beach + Gallery Lawn
A summer finale full of sun, smiles, and interactive art fun for all ages! Families can join veteran artists to create sand sculptures, seashell mosaics, and more. Local vendors, live music, and gallery tours all day.
